The two opposing forces build their characters from two wildly different decks.
The Heroes gets loads of tools to support each other to overcome the odds. The Boss relies on debilitating effects, traps and raw power to crush the pesky Heroes.
Boss Fight keeps the players engaged with a snappy game play loop sprinkled with chewy decisions.
Everyone chooses their secret actions simultaneously, then reveals them to see who's getting closer to victory.
Build personal decks by picking perks and action cards, or get even swifter by choosing a suggested deck list.
Perfect for newcomers!
Boss Fight is a labor of love, and is therefore 100% created by my own hands. No AI has been used in any of the cards elements- I've drawn the graphic elements from scratch!
My greatest joy is to share this experience with others. And while I cannot offer the real experience of playing at a table, you can enjoy the game on your computer.
Gather your friends and enjoy Boss Fight: The Card Game online, bringing the fun and competition right to your fingertips on either one of these platforms.
About the Project
On Tabletopia, you can play games directly in your internet browser for free with an account. For now, you can send me a message, and I'll set up a game for you. Soon, you'll be able to play freely without my assistance!
Tabletop Simulator is a PC app-based platform where you can add games as mods to play them. The program requires a one-time purchase, but the Boss Fight mod itself is free to play.
A wish to bring people together
My name is Joakim. I’m a long-time video game nerd and work in TV production for a living. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved all kinds of games. I also enjoyed drawing cartoons and creating my own games. If I dig through my old stuff, I can even find early attempts at turning my favorite video games into board games.
One random evening in 2018, I thought it would be cool to have a tabletop experience similar to the boss fights in games like Final Fantasy or Octopath Traveler. The turn-based rounds translate perfectly to the table! I started on the spot, using post-its for my very first prototypes.
Since then, I’ve worked on this game whenever I can. Drawing has always been a passion, so I decided to illustrate it myself—I hope you like it. Along the way, I’ve connected with loads of other board game designers around the world and joined an expansive, supportive community where people genuinely help each other out.
My dream with Boss Fight is to create an experience that people can share at the same table, just like we used to share video games from one couch. I want to entice both board gamers and video gamers looking to broaden their horizons. My goal is to offer a fun, exciting game with enough depth to keep it interesting, yet simple enough to introduce to new players.
Thank you for being here, and I hope you enjoy Boss Fight as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it!
Best Regards
/ Joakim
